Bio

Simon is the Firm’s Managing Partner, having succeeded Michael Franklin, one of the co-founders of the Firm, following Michael’s retirement. He attended Coventry University where he graduated with a degree in Law before completing his Law Society examinations at Chancery Lane in London. Simon joined Franklins in 1988 and qualified as a solicitor in 1990.

Simon became a partner in 1993 and continues to work on all aspects of Corporate and Commercial Law. He has played a central role in developing the firm’s commercial offering, acting for owner managed businesses through to large corporate organisations and overseeing the firm’s relationships with a number of banking institutions.

Alongside his commercial practice, Simon oversees the Wills, Trusts and Probate department, providing strategic leadership and support.

Simon is also the Firm’s Compliance Officer for Legal Practice (COLP), with responsibility for legal and regulatory compliance, risk management, staff training and reporting obligations to the Solicitors Regulation Authority. Simon and his team also support other businesses through Anti-Money Laundering training.

As Managing Partner, Simon works with his fellow Equity Members Andrea Smith, Lee Holmes and Scott Wright, as well as Chief Financial Officer Alison Gee, in developing the firm’s strategy and supporting its continued growth and long-term success.
