Franklins Solicitors LLP has announced the 12 charities selected to take part in its 2027 £50 Challenge, bringing together local businesses, charities and community groups to raise vital funds for good causes across Milton Keynes and Northamptonshire.
Now entering its ninth year, the Franklins £50 Challenge has become a well-established fixture in the local fundraising calendar, raising nearly a quarter of a million pounds for charity since its launch in 2018.
The 2027 Challenge will run from 23rd February to 29th May 2027, with participating teams receiving £50 in seed funding from Franklins and being challenged to turn it into as much money as possible for their chosen charity.
Following a competitive application process, the 12 charities selected for 2027 are:
- Ailsa’s Aim
- Camphill Milton Keynes & Northants
- Cynthia Spencer Hospice Charity
- Harry’s Rainbow
- Milton Keynes Hospital Charity
- Northamptonshire Domestic Abuse Service
- Rainbows Hospice
- Spinal Injuries Association
- The Henry Allen Trust
- The Lewis Foundation
- UnityMK
- YMCA South Midlands
The selected charities represent a wide range of causes, from supporting people affected by serious illness and bereavement to helping vulnerable individuals and families, tackling homelessness and providing vital support within local communities.
Unlike traditional charity fundraising challenges, the Franklins £50 Challenge brings together multiple charities under one initiative, creating opportunities for local businesses, schools and community groups to get involved, build relationships and make a collective difference.
Over the years, participants have demonstrated incredible creativity and determination, organising everything from bake sales and raffles to ambitious fundraising events and challenges. What starts with just £50 can grow into thousands of pounds for charity.
Rosanna Stimson, Associate Partner and Head of Marketing at Franklins Solicitors LLP said:
“We’re delighted to announce our 12 charity partners for 2027. The standard of applications was incredibly high, which made the selection process particularly difficult.
The £50 Challenge has grown into something we’re immensely proud of. It’s about much more than fundraising. It’s about bringing people together, creating connections between local businesses and charities and showing what can be achieved when a community gets behind a shared goal.
Every year we’re amazed by the enthusiasm, creativity and generosity of the teams taking part. We’re looking forward to working with our charity partners to make the 2027 Challenge another fantastic success.”
The 2026 Challenge saw 56 teams take part, raising more than £50,000 for 12 charities in just three months.
With preparations now underway for 2027, Franklins will once again be encouraging businesses of all sizes, schools and community groups across Milton Keynes and Northampton and the surrounding areas to get involved.
Businesses and organisations interested in taking part in the 2027 Franklins £50 Challenge are encouraged to register their interest on www.franklins50.co.uk.
