Kathryn Thornewill TEP
Kathryn became part of Franklins Solicitors LLP’s Private Client team in 2013, immediately working closely with the Head of Department, Helen Taylor TEP.
Kathryn acts in the administration of Estates when someone has passed away, Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, dealing with the Court of Protection applications for Deputies, Inheritance Tax planning and Trusts.
Kathryn feels that when acting for clients who have recently lost a family member or loved one, friendliness and approachability are crucial. These are qualities that Kathryn truly excels in and she enjoys providing a complete service to clients leaving them safe in the knowledge that their matter is being dealt with professionally and efficiently.
The type of clients Kathryn works for varies between business owners seeking advice regarding Estate planning and dealing with shareholdings in a tax efficient manner upon their deaths, to families preparing Wills to provide for loved ones.
Kathryn is half way through gaining her STEP qualification which is a mark of excellence for solicitors bestowed by The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.
Having all of her clients’ wider interests at heart, Kathryn naturally deals regularly with their Accountants and Independent Financial Advisors to ensure they receive the best possible advice which is tailored to suit their circumstances and needs.
Within the Franklins team Kathryn also works closely with my colleagues in the Property department, particularly in relation to residential declarations of Trust. When acting for clients with business interests it’s also vital that Kathryn aligns with her Corporate colleagues to ensure that her clients’ Wills compliment their Shareholders Agreements.
In her spare time Kathryn enjoys walking and visiting family and friends.
