Employees benefit from a number of pieces of ‘family-friendly’ pieces of legislation, such as:
- Maternity, paternity, adoption, surrogacy and fostering leave. Eligible employees are entitled to paid leave;
- Shared parental leave, allowing the primary carer of the child to return to work early, giving the other parent the benefit of any unexpired period of leave;
- All employees and now entitled to request flexible working arrangements, regardless of their reasons for doing so.
