We are delighted to have been able to support Will Aid once again.
Will Aid is the UK’s leading Charity Will writing scheme. The charity rightfully reinforces the need for everyone to have a professionally drawn-up will by offering people across the UK the opportunity to make a simple Will or update their Will. In return Will Aid aims to raise funds for its participating charities.
This is a post to share the results from the last Will Aid month we supported - i.e. November 2014. Solicitors from our Northampton and Milton Keynes offices prepared simple Wills and Codicils completely free of charge. In exchange for this free service we invited our clients to make a donation to Will Aid.
The 2014 campaign was a real success with our offices raising £6,857 for this worthy campaign. The funds collected help to change the lives of vulnerable persons both in the UK and around the world. The scheme supports nine leading charities: Actionaid, Age UK, British Red Cross, Christian Aid, NSPCC, Save the Children, SCIAF, Sightsavers and Trocaire, who use these funds both in the UK and also further afield in areas such as Cambodia.
The Will Aid scheme has raised over £13 million nationwide since its foundation in 1988, and the 2014 campaign is expected to have raised a further £1.75 million. We are extremely proud, here at Franklins, to have played our part in the fantastic work that Will Aid undertakes, and we would like to thank all of our clients that generously donated to this worthwhile cause.
We very much look forward to working with Will Aid on its 2015 campaign this year. If you would like to know more about Will Aid, please have a look at their website. If you know of someone who would like to take advantage of the Will Aid month here at Franklins - please drop me an email, tweet me - or give my team or I a call on 01604 828 282.
